In creating the largest and most generous Internet In The Car proposition of its type, data from over ½ million global in-car connections was analysed to provide valuable insight into current usage rates and to help model future consumption trends. The 100GB 365 day allowance ensures every new Volvo customer has the ability to enjoy a feature-rich connected car without compromising their experience with cost or data allowance constraints.

Following a walk-through registration process completed during handover, the customer has access to a mobile-friendly feature-rich portal which includes a dial for the 100GB bundle and a countdown clock for the 365 days. There is a host of top-up options available to suit different usage requirements once the initial bundle expires. Automated emails are sent to customers as they approach the end of their current bundle allowing them to plan ahead and always remain connected.
"We are delighted to work with Volvo and Vodafone on this major project, which is destined to shake-up the automotive industry and stimulate the awareness and demand for real-time connected car solutions."
"Automotive manufacturers have incorporated live infotainment and in-car WiFi capability into their cars for some time, but end-user adoption has not yet reached true potential. This innovative approach embraced by Volvo is leading a turning point. In-car connectivity is very quickly set to become a must-have feature for new car buyers."
Darren Webb, CEO, Trinsic Ltd
Trinsic Connected CarTM enables car manufacturers to create a global own-branded solution, regulatory compliant in over 22 markets, with roaming in 44 countries, complete with customer portal, billing and local language support, operating on the Vodafone IoT network. A unique feature of the platform is its capability to create multiple B2B2C billing paths. This allows the OEM to fund the initial promotion and offers the end user the opportunity to purchase renewal subscriptions and top-ups into the future. Secured multiple APNs can also be created to efficiently separate out data traffic allowing a single embedded SIM card to be incorporated into the manufacture of head units.
